speed be x
distance= 2800 km

t = 2800/x

speed is reduced by 100
speed = x - 100

time = 2800 / ( x - 100 )

Its average speed is reduced by 100 kmph and time is increased by 30 minutes (1/2 h ).

(2800 / x - 100) - 2800/x = 1/2

x=-700 , x= 800

-700 will be neglected,speed is not negative

x = 800

time = 2800 / 800
time = 7/2 hours
