Answer:

Total number of flowers are 320

Step-by-step explanation:

let total number of flowers be x

No of Jasmine = 1/8 of x = x/8

No of Roses = 3/5 of x = 3x/5

No of sunflower = 1/4 of x = x/4

No of lilies = 8

Total number of flowers= Jasmine+ roses + sunflower + lilies

=>x = x/8+3x/5+x/4+8

=>x= (5x+24x+10x)/40 + 8 (by LCM)

=>x = 39x/40 + 8

=>x - 39x/40 = 8

=>(40x-39x )/40 = 8

=>x/40= 8

=>x = 320

320

Step-by-step explanation:

Let there are x flowers. 1/8 of x are Jasmine, 3/5 of x are Roses, 1/4 of x are Sunflowers and 8 are Lilies.

Total number of flowers = x

\impliesJasmine + Roses + Sunflowers + Lilies = x

(1/8 * x ) + (3/5 * x) + (1/4 * x) + 8 = x

x/8 + 3x/5 + x/4 + 8 = x

x/8 + 3x/5 + x/4 - x = -8

(5x + 24x + 10x - 40x)/40 = - 8

-x/40 = - 8

x/40 = 8

x = 8*40

x = 320

Total number of flowers is 320
