In a fountain pen ink does not run out by its own, why?

it is because of variation in the atmospheric pressure.all things maintain a balance b/w the internal pressure and external pressure to remain stable.
when the atmospheric pressure decreases in the atmosphere the pressure in the fountain pen increases and due to increased pressure the ink runs out or else at normal conditions does not run out
