In a foyer( Group ) of 400 students, 15% remained absent on a rainy day. Of those present, 34 students did not do their homework. What percent of the children present did not do their homework?

No. of students= 400
Percent of students absent= 15%
No. of students absent= 15/100*400
= 60
No. of students present= 400-60
= 340
No. of students present= 34
who didn't do their
homework
Percent of students= 34/340*100
present who didn't = 10%
do their homework

Answer:

Given:-

400 students

15% were absent

number of students who were present but didn't do their homework=34

So,first of all we've to find 15% of 400

by

 \frac{15}{100} \times 400 \\ = 15 \times 4

 = 60

therefore 60 students were absent

now

400-60=340

340 students were present

out of it 34 didn't complete their Homework

we've to find what percentage of 340 is 34,by using

 \frac{34}{340} \times 100 \\ \frac{34}{34} \times 10 \\ 1 \times 10 = 10

therefore 10% of the present students' didn't do their homework.
