in a fraction, rwice the numerator is 2 more than the denominator. If 3 is added to the numerator and to the denominator, the new fraction is 2/3.find the original fraction.

Explanation:

let the num be 'x'

and denno be 'y'

therefore fraction is x/y

acc to the q,

2x=y+2---------(1)

and,

x+3 / y+3 = 2 / 3

[now you cross multiply]

3[x+3]=2[y+3]

3x+9=2y+6

3x-2y=6-9

y= -3

[subst value of 'y' in eqn (1)]

2x= -3+2

x= -1/2

therefore frac is  -1/2/-3 = -1/2*-3/1

=3/2
