Given :

in a frequency distribution the class width is 4 and the lower limit of the first class is 10.

To Find :

if there are six classes, the upper limit of last class is

Solution:

Class width : Class width is the difference between the upper and lower boundaries of any class

Class width = 4

Lower limit of first class = 10

Upper limit = Lower limit +class width

So, Upper limit of first class = 10+4=14

So, First class = 10-14

Now lower limit of of second class = 14

So, Upper limit of second class = 14+4=18

So, Second class = 14-18

Now lower limit of of Third class = 18

So, Upper limit of Third class = 18+4=22

So, Third class = 18-22

Now lower limit of of Fourth class = 22

So, Upper limit of Fourth class = 22+4=26

So, Fourth class = 22-26

Now lower limit of of Fifth class = 26

So, Upper limit of Fifth class = 26+4=30

So, Fifth class = 26-30

Now lower limit of of sixth class = 30

So, Upper limit of sixth class = 30+4=34

So, Sixth class = 30-34

Hence the upper limit of last class is  34
