Answer:

In a garden 1/4 of the plants were rose plants, 2/3 were jasmine plants, and the remaining 30 were hibiscus plants. How many total plants were there in the garden?

Ensure justice for all. Study law at GITAM.

Let the total number of plants be X.

As per the question given, 1/4 of the plants are roses, 2/3 of the plants are jasmines, and the remaining 30 are hibiscuses.

So (X/4) + (2X/3) + 30 = X.

Solving the equation, we get

(11X/12) + 30 = X

i.e., X - (11X/12) = 30

i.e., X/12 = 30

Therefore X = 360.

Hence the total number of plants are 360.

Number of Rose Plants : X/4 = 360/4 = 90.

Number of Jasmine Plants : 2X/3 = 2*360/3 = 240
