In a garden of mangoes, 3 children went there to collect mangoes. They collected all the mangoes there and divided it into 3 equal lot. One was extra so it was eaten by them.

That night they stayed back there. At mid night when the other 2 friends were sleeping ,1 of them woke up and appiled a trick.

The trick is as follows..
The thing he did was kept his lot aside and added the lots of his friends ,divided it into 3 lots and ate 1 mango which was extra.

Then from the new 2 lots he took a lot and
added it to his old lot and kept the remaining
2 new lots for his friends.

The same trick was applied by the other 2 friends.

In the morning when they wake up, they
see each of them has 7 mangoes.
Now find now many mangoes were in
the garden at the very beginning ?

let the total be X

then X/3 =y

2y/3 r=1

now( 2y/3)-1/3 r=1

...so on till

y= 7
