In a garden there are total 100 trees, out of them 25 are mango trees, 20 are orange trees, 15 are jack-fruit trees, 30 are papaya trees and rest are pomegranate trees.

 \bold{ \underline{\underline{To \:  find:}}}

Ratio of no. of papaya trees to no. of pomegranate trees.

 \bold{ \underline{\underline{Answer:}}}

No. of (mango trees, orange trees, jack-fruit trees, papaya trees and pomegranate trees) = 100

25 + 20 + 15 + 30 + pomegranate trees = 100

90 + pomegranate trees = 100

Pomegranate trees = 100 - 90 = 10 trees.

Now we know that,

No. of mango trees = 25 trees

No. of orange trees = 20 trees

No. of jack-fruit trees = 15 trees

No. of papaya trees = 30 trees

No. of pomegranate trees = 10 trees

But we want only the no. of papaya trees and pomegranate trees

no.  \: of \:  papaya \:  trees :\: pomegranate \:  trees =   \frac{3 \cancel{0}}{1\cancel{0}}

 =  \frac{3}{1}

∴ Ratio of no. of papaya trees to no. of pomegranate trees = 3 : 1
