Solution:

By formula,

Net work = Output - Work

Substituting,

We get,

600 - 400

Net work = 200 kj / kg

Thermal efficiency = Net work / Heat supplied

Substituting,

We get,

200 / 1000 * 100

Thermal efficiency = 20 %
