Given : ∠x  > ∠y

To Find : prove that MP >NP

Solution:

∠x = ∠MNP + ∠P  ( Exterior angle of triangle = Sum of opposite two internal angles)

Similarly

∠y = ∠NMP + ∠P  ( Exterior angle of triangle = Sum of opposite two internal angles)

∠x  > ∠y

=> ∠MNP + ∠P >  ∠NMP + ∠P

subtract  ∠P from both sides

=>  ∠MNP   >  ∠NMP

Side opposite to greater angle is larger

Side opposite to  ∠MNP is MP

Side opposite to  ∠NMP is NP

MP > NP
