Answer:

Given : A pendulum is used.

"A" ---> mean position

"B" and "C" are extreme position

2 seconds for the object to move from B to C

To find : Time period.

Definitions: Time period is defined as the time taken by the oscillatory object to complete one full /complete oscillation.

Calculation: As per the definition, let us consider that the object started from Point B.

Time period will be the time taken to return back to Point B again.

So the total time taken

= [Time from B to C] + [ Time from C to B]

= 2 + 2

= 4 seconds.

IT CAN ALSO BE SOLVED IN THIS ALTERNATIVE METHOD:

Time taken to travel from B to A

= 1/2 (time from B to C

= 1/2 * 2

= 1 second.

Now time period = 4 times the time to travel from mean position to extreme

= 4 * 1

= 4 seconds.

So the answer is 4 seconds.
