ABCD is a Square

=> AB = BC = CD = DA  = X (Let say)

& ∠A = ∠B = ∠C = ∠D  = 90°

area of triangle ABD  = (1/2) * AB * AD

= (1/2) * X * X

= X²/2

area of triangle ABD is 36cm²,

=> X²/2 = 36

=> X² = 72

=> X = 6√2 cm

the area of triangle BCD  = (1/2) * BC * CD

= (1/2) * X * X

= X²/2

= 36 cm²

the area of triangle BCD  =  36 cm²

area of the square ABCD = AB * BC   = X² = 72 cm²
