The 8th term of the G.P. is 640.

Explanation:

The nth term in Geometric progression(G.P.) is given by :-

a_n=ar^{n-1}               (1)

, where a = First term

r= Common ratio

We are given that In a GP,the first term is 5 and common ratio is 2 .

To find nth term of GP , substitute a=5 and r= 2 in (1) m, we get

a_n=5(2)^{n-1}

At n= 8 , a_8=5(2)^{8-1}=5(2)^{7}=5(128)=640

Therefore , the 8th term of the G.P. is 640.
