In a GP the product of first 5 terms is 1 and the sum of the first 3 terms is 7/4. Find the common ratio

Let the first 5 terms of G.P are      
 a/r^2,  a/r, a, ar, ar^2     
 Then according to the question their product is 1    
 Hence, 
a/r^2 × ar × a × ar × ar^2 = 1    
 ⇒ a5 = 1    
⇒ a = 1    
Also sum of first 3 terms is 74

⇒ a/r^2 + a/r + a = 7/4
⇒ 1/r^2 + 1/r + 1 = 74      [put a = 1]
⇒ 1 + r/r^2  = 3/4
⇒3r^2-4r-4=0
