N(u) =52

English=a

French=b

N(a-b)=16

N(a)=33

Now use formula and find n(b-a)

JustSayLOL: umm.. actually i know the method to find the answer. I just want a congirmation that my answer is correct

Answer:

Since the no. of English speaking is 33 among them 16 don't speak French so there are 33-16 = 17 people who speak English and French . So now among 56 people we know 56-33 = 23 speak French.

Now : n(e)=33

n(f)=23

n(e intersection f)=17

So n(e u f)= n(e)+n(f)-n(f intersection f) = 33+23-17=39

So people who ONLY speak French is n(e u f)-n(e) = 39-23 = 16.
