let total no. be x
so acc to situation
x- (2/5 x + 1/5 x +1/4 x) = 30
so
x - (8+4+5)x/20 = 30
x - 17/20x = 30
3x/20 = 30
3x = 600
x = 200
... now cricket --- 2/5 (200) = 80
badminton. ---- 1/5(200) = 40
football --- 1/4(200) = 50...

Let the total no of children be x
No of Children who play cricket =2x/5
No of Children who play badminton =1x/5
No of Children who play football =1x/4
Remaining =30
1x/4+1x/5+2x/5+30=x
5x+4x+8x/20+30=x
17x/20=x-30
17x=(x-30)20
17x=20x-600
17x-20x=-600
-3x=600
x= -600/-3
x=200
the total no of children=200
Football players =200/4=50
Badminton players=200/5=40
Cricket =2*200/5=80
