 \large{\boxed{\boxed{\sf Let's \: Understand \: Question \: F1^{st}}}}

Here, we have given the Ratio of male and female in a group of people and said that there are 12 more male members than female members. Then, we have to find the actual no. of male and female members.

 \large{\boxed{\boxed{\sf How  \: To  \: Do  \: It?}}}

Here, f1st of all we will let the no. of female members 'x' then the no. of male members will be x+12 Now, going according to Question we will find the value of 'x' which is no. of female members in that group. Then, we will add 12 in x to get the no. of female members.

Let's Do It

Given:-

  • Ratio of male to female in a group = 7:3
  • The no. of male is 12 more than female.

Find:-

  • Actual no. of male and female in that group.

Solution:-

Let, Female members be x

Then, Male members will be x + 12

Now,

\underline{\underline{\textsf{According To Question}}}

:\Longrightarrow\sf \dfrac{Female\:Members}{Male\: Members} = \dfrac{4}{7} \\

:\Longrightarrow\sf \dfrac{x}{x + 12} = \dfrac{4}{7} \\

✮ Cross-multiplication

:\Longrightarrow\sf \dfrac{x}{x + 12} = \dfrac{4}{7} \\

:\Longrightarrow\sf 7(x) = 4(x + 12) \\

:\Longrightarrow\sf 7x = 4x + 48\\

:\Longrightarrow\sf 7x  - 4x  =  48\\

:\Longrightarrow\sf 3x  =  48\\

:\Longrightarrow\sf x  =   \dfrac{48}{3}\\

:\Longrightarrow\sf x  = 16\\

\underline{\boxed{\sf \therefore No.\:of\: female\: members\:is\:16}}

Now, substituting value of 'x' in 'x + 12'

➱ Male members = x + 12

➱ Male members = 16 + 12 = 28

➱ Male members = 28

\underline{\boxed{\sf \therefore No.\:of\: Male\: members\:is\:28}}

Hence,

Male members = 16

Female members = 16
