Total = adding all digits...

65+45+42+20+25+15+8 = 300

Total no. of students are 300 in the group...

Step-by-step explanation:

students who play football = f

students who play hockey = h

students who play cricket = c

n(f) = 65  n(h) = 45  n(c) = 42

n(f and h) = 20  n(f and c) = 25  n(h and c) = 15  n(f and h and c) = 8

n(f or h or c) = n(f) + n(h) + n(c) - n(f and h) - n(f and c) - n(h and c) + n(f and h and c)

                     = 65+45+42-20-25-15+18

                     = 100

Assuming each student in the group plays at least one game,

Then total number of students in the group = 100.
