In a hospital sewage water is collected in a cylindrical tank having diameter
2m and altitude 5m. The water is used to irrigate a park having length 25m
and breadth 20m. If the cylindrical tank was completely filled with water find

Diameter of cylinder(d)=2m
Radius of cylinder(r)=1m
Height of cylinder(H)=5m
Volume of cylndrical tank,V
c

=πr
2
H=π×1
2
×5=5πm
Length of the park(l)=25m
Breadth of park(b)=20m
The height of standing water in the park=h
Volume of water in the park=lbh=25×20×h
Now, water from the tank is used to irrigate the park.
So, Volume of cylindrical tank=Volume of water in the park.
⇒5π=25×20×h
⇒h=
25×20

⇒h=
25×20×7
5×22

=0.0314m
Through recyling of water, better use of the natural resource occurs without wastage. It helps in reducing and preventing pollution. It thus helps
