In a hostel there are 125 students, out of which 80 drink tea, 60 drink coffee and 20
drink tea and coffee both. Find the number of students who do not drink tea or coffee​

Answer: nT = 80 nC= 60 n (TnC)= 20 total students= 125

Total students drinks coffee and tea n(TUC)

=nT+nC- n(TnC)

=140-20 = 120

No. Of students who do not drink tea or coffee = 125-120= 5 .

Well, ok. You got a total of 125 students in the hostel… 80 drink tea, 60 drink coffee, then 20 drink both.

So, 60 only drink tea, and 40 only drink coffee. Then 20 drink both.

60+40=100+20=120

now, how many don't drink tea or coffee out of 125?

125–120=5.

5 students drink neither
