In a hostel there are 125 students, out of which 80 drink tea, 60 drink coffee, and drink both tea and coffee. What is the number of students who do not drink tea or coffee?

Well, ok. You got a total of 125 students in the hostel… 80 drink tea, 60 drink coffee, then 20 drink both.

So, 60 only drink tea, and 40 only drink coffee. Then 20 drink both.

60+40=100+20=120

now, how many don't drink tea or coffee out of 125?

125–120=5.

5 students drink neither.
