In a house having a 220v line the following three appliances (1000w heater,40w radio, 60w bulb). Find the current passing through the fuse for this line.

Answer:

total power=(1000+40+60)W=1100W

voltage=220V

now, current=power/voltage

current=1100/220 A

current=5A

therefore current passing through the fuse is 5A
