  • The electrical cost will be Rs. 36.

Given-

  • Power of the bulb = 60 watt
  • Daily glow time = 5 hours
  • Electricity rate per unit = Rs. 2.00

Electrical energy consumed by the bulb per day is given by -

E = P × t , where P is the power and t is the time of glow

Energy consumed by one bulb = 60 × 5 Watt- hours

Energy consumed by two bulbs = 60 × 5 × 2 = 600 watt - hours

Now we know that-

1 unit = 1 kW h = 1000 W h

1 W h = (1/1000) unit

600 watt - hours = 600/1000 = 0.6 unit

So the electrical energy consumed by the bulb per day is 0.6 unit.

Electrical energy consumed by the bulb for a month is = 0.6 × 30 = 18 units

Cost of 1 unit = Rs. 2

Cost of 18 units = Rs 2 × 18 = Rs. 36
