In a right angle triangle, Pythagoras theorem can be applied. Let's say the three sides are x,y,z where z is the hypotenuse. As it is also an isoceles triangle, x=y, so the sides are x,x,z. Using the theorem: x^2+x^2=z^2. => 2x^2=(5root2)^2 =>2x^2=50 =>x^2=25 =>x=5
