=> Question :

In an isosceles triangle if the vertex angle is 70° , find the base angles.

=> Answer :

Base angles are equal to 55°

=> Step-by-step explanation:

Let the isosceles triangle be ABC

( with equal sides AB and AC )

Given,

Vertex angle = 70° = angle A

Now,

As we know that in an isosceles triangle base angles are equal i.e. angle B = angle C

Using Angle Sum Property.....

=> angle A + angle B + angle C = 180°

=> 70° + 2(angle B) = 180°

=> 2( angle B ) = 180° -70°

=> 2 (angle B ) = 110°

=> angle B = 110°/2

=> angle B = 55°

Therefore,

Angle B = Angle C = 55°

(Base angles are equal to 55°)
