ratio of bowls ,plates,glasses= 4:2:3

4x + 2x + 3x = 108
9x = 108
x =108/9 = 12

4x = 4×12 = 48
2x = 2×12 = 24
3x = 3×12 = 36

i) probability that it is a plate = favourable outcomes/total outcomes
= 24/108 = 2/9

ii) probability that it is not a bowl = favourable outcomes/total outcomes
= (24+36)/108 = 60/ 108
= 5/9
