30
50 + 30 =80
100-80= 20 which is remaining
So 20%= 500
1% = 500/20
1% = 25
So 100% = 25 ×100=2500 books

Answer:

Total number books in the library = 2500

Step-by-step explanation:

Let Total number books in the library = x

According to the problem given,

i) Number English books = 30% of x

=30\% \times x\\</p><p>= \frac{30}{100}\times x\\=\frac{3x}{10}--(1)

ii) Number of Hindi books = 50% of x

=50\% \times x\\</p><p>= \frac{50}{100}\times x\\=\frac{5x}{10}--(2)--(2)

iii) Remaining books = 500

Now,

x-\frac{3x}{10}-\frac{5x}{10}=500

\implies \frac{10x-3x-5x}{10}=500

\implies \frac{2x}{10}=500

\implies 2x=500 \times 10

\implies x = \frac{5000}{2}

\implies x = 2500

Therefore,

Total number books in the library = x = 2500
