In a librarythere are 990 books. If the number of English books is 4 times the number of
Mathematics books and the number of Mathematics books is twice the number of science books
Find the number of books of each subject.​

Solution :-

Given :-

Total books = 990

English books = 8x

Mathematics books = 2x

Science books = x

To find the answer we get a idea that is if we add the three books the total books will be 990. Let solve it.

Answer :-

x + 2x + 8x = 990

11x = 990

x = 990/11

x = 90

The total number of English books is 8x = 8(90) = 720

The total number of Mathematics books is 2x = 2(90) = 180

The total number of Science books is x = 90.
