implies, 6.2 kilo = 6.2 X 1000 = 6200 base pairs
• 6200 base pairs = 6200x 2 = 12400 bases.
• the number of thymine present = 2160
• to find the number of guanine,
• we know, number of thymine = number of adenine. also number if guanine = number of cytosine. ( chargaff's rule)
• T = 2160 = A
implies, A + T = 2160 X 2 = 4320 .
Implies,
G + C = total number of bases - ( A + T)
G + C = 12400 - 4320
we know G = C
implies,
2G = 8080
Therefore,
G = 8080 / 2
G = 4040.
the number of guanine is equal to 4040.
