In a long time period of unfavourable conditions all living organisms can die but microorganism cannot. Why?

Some Microrganism(like Amoeba) forms a hard shell over itself called as Cyst which protect it with unfavourable condition outside.

While, Some microorganisms(ArchaeBacteria) are resistant to Temperature & are found in very hot springs & cold climates also
