number of 25 paise coins = 2x

number of 50 paise coins = x

number of 1 rupee coins = x

number of 5 rupee coins = 2x

number of 10 rupee coins = 3x

value of 25 paise coins = (0.4) (2x) = 0.8 x

value of 50 paise coins = (0.2) x

number of 1 rupee coins = x

number of 5 rupee coins = 5 (2x) = 10 x

number of 10 rupee coins = 10 (3x) = 30 x

total sum = 420

(0.8) x +  (0.2) x + x + 10 x + 30 x = 420

x = 10

sum of number of coins = 2 x + x + x + 2 x + 3 x

sum of number of coins = 9 x = 9 (10) = 90

so number of coins is 90
