SOLUTION :

Given: In a lottery there are 10 prizes and 25 blanks.

Total number of tickets is 10 + 25 = 35

Total number of outcomes = 35

Let E = Event of getting a prize .

Number of prize carrying in a lottery tickets = 10

Number of outcome favourable to E = 10

Probability (E) = Number of favourable outcomes / Total number of outcomes

P(E) = 10/35 =2/7

Hence, the required probability of probability of getting a prize , P(E) = 2/7.
