The minimum number of rooms required to accommodate the occupants is 65.

Given,

There are persons from five different places who come to represent are 40,64,216,96 and 104.

To Find,

The minimum number of rooms required for occupants.

Solution,

Firstly, we have to take the HCF of all the numbers.

HCF of 40,64,216,96 and 104 are as follows:

40 = 8×5

64 = 8×8

216 = 27×8

96 = 12×8

104 = 13×8

So, 8 is common in all the numbers.

HCF = 8.

Now, to find the minimum number of rooms

we have to divide numbers with the HCF and Sum it all.

= \frac{40}{8}+\frac{64}{8}+\frac{216}{8}+\frac{96}{8}  +\frac{104}{8}.

= 5 + 8 + 27 + 12 + 13.

= 65.

The minimum number of rooms required to accommodate the occupants is 65.
