Answer: Let p and q be the resistances at the left and right gap. Let l be the length of wire. Then

p/q=l/100-l

Ans:25 cm from left cide

Explanation:

10/30=l/100-l

1/3=l/100-l

3l=100-l

4l=100

l=25

We get balancing length as 25 cm .This is where we get the null point.
