Answer:

The ratio of milk and water in new mixture is 2 : 1

Step-by-step explanation:

Ratio of milk and water in mixture is 5 : 2

Quantity of mixture = 28 litres

Thus, quantity of milk =\frac{5}{7} \times 28 = 5 \times 4 = 20 litres

Quantity of water =\frac{2}{7} \times 28 = 2 \times 4 = 8 litres

Now, given that 2 litres is water is added to the mixture

Thus, new quantity of water  = 8 + 2 = 10 litres

Thus, new ratio of milk and water is calculated as

Ratio = \frac{20}{10}\\\\Ratio = \frac{2}{1}\\\\ Ratio = 2 : 1

Thus, ratio of milk and water in new mixture is 2 : 1
