In a mixture of 35 gallons of milk and water the ratio of milk and water is 5:2. How much water should be added to the mixture so that the ratio becomes 5:6?​

35 kg of milk is mixed with water to get ratio of 5:2.

So 35: water = 5:2 ==> water 14 kg

Now we want milk to stay at 35 kgs and want to add water so :

Let added water amount=x

35 : 14 + x = 2 : 7

(35 * 7) /2= 14 + x ==> 245/2=14 + x

122.5 - 14= 108.5 kg of water is added extra
