Dear Student,

⇒Answer :

Let x litres of water is added,

Original mixture has water = \frac{ 2 }{ 15 } × 45

New mixture is 45+x litres & water in it =  \frac{ 1 }{ 4 } (45+x)

Also water is (  \frac{ 2}{ 15 }  × 45 )   + x

\frac{ 45 + X }{4 }\\  = 6 x ⇒  45+x= 24+4 x

⇒ 3 x = 21⇒ x= 71

⇒71 litre water must be added to this mixture to make the ratio of milk to water to 3:1
