In a mixture of milk and water the ratio of milk and water is 5:1. what part of mixture is replaced with another mixture in which the milk and water is in the ratio of 3:2 so that ratio of milk and water in resulting mixture becomes 3:1?

Let 5x and x be quantity of milk and water originally.

On adding 5L of water , Water becomes x +5

The new ratio is 5x/x+5 = 5/2

x= 5

So quantity of milk in original mixture = 5x = 25L
