Answer:

7:5

7x:5x

7x+5x=36

12x=36

X=3

so, milk is 7×3=21 litre

and water is 5×3=15 litre

than add 36 litre of water

total quantity of water in final mixture. 36 litre+15 litre=51 litre (and.)

Given:

Ratio of the milk and water=7:5

If 36 liters of the mixture are taken out and 36 liters of water added,

the ratio becomes 7:11

To find the quantity of water in the final mixture

Solution:

Consider the amount of milk to be 7x and the amount of water to be 5x and the amount of mixture will be 12x.

According to the question,

When 36 liters mixture is taken out, the quantity of milk taken out =36×7/12=21 liters

And, the quantity of water taken out= 36×5/12= 15 liters

Then,

The quantity of mixture taken out will be (7x-21) and the quantity of water in the final mixture will be (5x-15+36) whose ratio is 7:11

Thus, the equation becomes,

7x-21/5x-15+36=7/11

⇒11(7x-21)=7(5x+21)

⇒77x-231=35x+147

⇒77x-35x=147+231

⇒42x=378

⇒x=9

So, quantity of water in final mixture = 5x – 15 + 36= 5 × 9 – 15 + 36= 66 litres.
