Answer:

Let the man's total income be Rs. x.

rent - 20% of x = 20/100*x = 20x/100

food - 40% of x = 40/100*x = 40x100

education - 15% of x = 15/100*x = 15x/100

charity - 5% of x = 5/100*x = 5x/100

entertainment - 8% of x = 8/100*x = 8x/100

total spent = 20x/100 + 40x/100 + 15x/100 + 5x/100 + 8x/100

                  = 20x + 40x + 15x + 5x + 8x / 100

                  = 88x/100

money saved = 3600 Rs.

total income = money spent + money saved

x = 88x/100 + 3600

x = 88x/100 + 360000/100

x = 88x+360000 / 100

100x = 88x + 360000

100x - 88x = 360000

12x = 360000

x = 360000/12

x = 30000

Therefore, the man's total income is 30000 Rs.
