Let Ram's income is 100

He spends on household =20%of100=

100

20

×100=Rs20

Remaining income =100−20=Rs.80

Expenditure on books =15%of80=

100

15

×80=Rs.12

Remaining income=80−12=Rs.68

Expenditure on clothes =30%of68=

100

30

×68=Rs.20.4

Saving=68−20.4=Rs.47.6

If saving is 47.6 then income=100

If saving is Rs.9520 then income=

47.6

100

×9520=Rs.20000
