There are a number of movies which have shown a typical scene of bomb diffusion where the actor clips a wire and lives are saved or sometimes if it’s the wrong wire it explodes.
If they provide the bomb with a single wire then anyone can defuse it so cutting a particular wire stops the current flow from the switch to the explosive that causes no spark to ignite the explosive.
