Answer:

Given =

solution = 0.1KCl

molarity = 0.65M

current (I) = 5.893A

time = 35.5minutes

length (l)= 5.6

to find =  transport number of k+ & cl-

solution =

apply the formula for calculating number of ions =

nK⁺ =  l x a x F x c / 1000q

nK⁺=  5.6 x 0,1142 x 96500 x 0.1 /  1000 x 5.893 x 10⁻³ x 2130

nK⁺=  6171.368 / 12552090

nK⁺ = 0.0004916 ≅ 0.492

nk⁺= 0.492

now,

for finding the number of Cl ions ,

nK⁺ + nCl⁻ = 1

nCl⁻ = 1 - nK⁺

nCl⁻=  1- 0.492

nCl⁻= 0.508

so, the number of K+ and Cl- ions are nk⁺= 0.492 and nCl⁻= 0.508  respectively .
