Given:

In a one-month period, a convenience store had sales of $65,560 from its gas pumps and sales of $36,740 from other in-store products. What percentage of total sales were from Gasoline?

To find:

What percentage of total sales were from Gasoline?

Solution:

The sales earned from the gas pump = $ 65,560

The sales earned from the other in-store products = $ 36,740

∴ The total sales earned by the store = 65,560 + 36,740 = $ 102300

Now,

The percentage of total sales earned from gasoline was,

= \frac{Sales \:from \:gas\:pump}{Total \:sales } \times 100

= \frac{65560}{102300 } \times 100

= \bold{64.08\%}

Thus, 64.08% of the total sales were from gasoline.
