In a pair of linear equation x+y=9 and x-y=1, the value of x and y are?​

Answer:X+Y=9 ....(1)

X-Y=1 ....(2)

Y=9-X ... From (1)

Substituting the value of the Y in equation (2)

X-(9-X)=1

X-9+X=1

2X=10

X=5

Substituting the value of X in equation (1)

5+Y=9

Y=4

Therefore the value of the Y is 4 and the value of the X is 5.

x=9-y.

x-y=1

9-y-y=1

9-2y=1

-2y=1-9

-2y=-8

y=-2/-8

y=4..

x+y=9

x+4=9

x=9-4

x=5..
