In a parallelogram ABCD, AB= 2x+1 and CD= 5x-2. Find the value of x.

Given in the parallelogram,

AB = $(2x + 1)$

CD = $(5x - 2)$

∵ Opposite sides of a parallelogram are same,

⇒ AB = CD

⇒ $2x + 1 = 5x - 2$

⇒ $2x - 5x = - 2 - 1$

⇒ $- 3x = - 3$

⇒ $x = 1$

∴ $x = 1$.
