In a parallelogram ABCD, AB = 8 cm. The alti-
tudes corresponding to sides AB and AD are re-
spectively 4 cm and 5 cm. Find measure of AD.​

dm=6cm

bn=10cm

area of a parallelogram

=b x h

=ab x dm

=8cm x 6cm

=48cm²

now,

area of parallelogram = 48 cm²

for sides ad and bn,

b x h = 48cm²

ad x 10 cm = 48cm²

ad= (48/10)cm

ad = 4.8cm
