In a parallelogram ABCD. AB is equal to 12 cm and the altitude corresponding to AB
is 8 if AD is equal to 10 cm find the altitude corresponding to AD

Here,

area of parallelogram is equal : base × altitude

so

In parallelogram ABCD,

Let, altitude corresponding to AB is CF

and altitude corresponding to AD is CE

Now,

AB×CF = AD ×CE

12 × 8 = 10 × CE

12 × 8÷10 = CE

9.6 = CE

So ,

The altitude corresponding to AD is equal to 9.6cm .
