In a parallelogram ABCD, angle A = (y+60) and angle D = (3y-20),then angle A is _____.

Answer:

In parallelogram, sum of adjacent angle is 180°(by alternate interior angle).

So,

angle A + angle D = 180°

y + 60 + 3y - 20 = 180

4y + 40 = 180

4y = 180 - 40

4y = 140

y = 140/4

y = 35°.

Then, angle A = y + 60

= 35 + 60 = 95° ans.
